Phoenix – Today, the January for Attorney General campaign released data from their first poll. In a head-to-head match, January is just two points behind the current incumbent. Neither Contreras nor Brnovich had primary opposition. Democratic primary turnout broke records and many expect turnout to increase for the November election.
"Arizonans are tired of being sold out by politicians who are more beholden to donors and special interests than to the people of Arizona. They want someone fighting for affordable health care, not suing to eliminate it like the current Attorney General," said Contreras, a former county and state prosecutor and Democratic candidate for Attorney General. "I'm grateful for the trust of so many Arizonans, and I'm going to work tirelessly to earn the respect of every voter in this state."
January Contreras is a former Deputy County Attorney, Assistant Attorney General, and an experienced criminal prosecutor and a founder of a non-profit for abused and vulnerable kids and youth. She’s running for Attorney General to bring accountability and transparency back to our government, and to put the safety, financial security, and well-being of Arizonans first.
